SEND

At Rhodes Green CE Primary School, we are committed to ensuring that every child is included, valued and given the opportunity to succeed.

We recognise that children learn and develop in different ways and that some children may require additional or different support during their time with us. Our approach to SEND begins with knowing the child – understanding their strengths, identifying barriers to learning and working together to provide the support that will help them flourish.

Our SENDCo, Miss Kitty Wilson, works closely with teachers, support staff, families and external professionals to coordinate provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities.

High-quality, inclusive classroom teaching sits at the heart of our approach. Where additional needs are identified, we may provide adaptations, targeted interventions, specialist resources or personalised provision, regularly reviewing the impact of this support and adapting it as children’s needs change.

Our wider inclusion offer, including The Hive, The Bridge, Forest School and targeted SEMH support, allows us to respond flexibly to individual needs while ensuring children remain valued members of their class and the wider Rhodes Green family.

Parents and carers are incredibly important partners in this process. We believe the best outcomes are achieved when school, families, children and professionals work together, with open and honest communication at every stage.

At Rhodes Green, SEND is not about lowering expectations. It is about removing barriers and finding the right pathway for each child, so that every pupil has the opportunity to achieve, belong and shine as stars in the world.
