The Bridge

Welcome to The Bridge, our curriculum is designed to support children who are working at an earlier stage of learning and need a more individualised approach to help them make progress.

At Rhodes Green, we recognise that progress looks different for every child. The Bridge provides a carefully adapted curriculum that meets children at their individual starting points while remaining ambitious about what they can achieve.

Learning focuses on developing the essential foundations children need to access the wider curriculum, with particular emphasis on communication, early literacy and numeracy, independence, social development and life skills. Teaching is practical, purposeful and responsive, allowing children to experience success while gradually building their confidence and understanding.

Children following The Bridge remain an important part of their class and the wider Rhodes Green family. Wherever appropriate, they learn alongside their peers and take part in the wider experiences, celebrations and opportunities that make school life special.

The curriculum is carefully adapted around individual needs and next steps, with progress recognised and celebrated in all its forms.

The Bridge reflects our belief that inclusion is not about every child doing the same thing – it is about every child receiving what they need to succeed.
