The Hive

Welcome to The Hive, our dedicated inclusion and nurture provision at Rhodes Green CE Primary School.

The Hive has been designed to provide a calm, supportive and nurturing environment for children who may need something different at particular points in their school journey. It forms an important part of our commitment to ensuring that every child feels they belong and receives the support they need to flourish.

Children accessing The Hive remain very much part of their class and the wider Rhodes Green family. Support is carefully planned around individual needs, with the aim of helping children develop the confidence, emotional regulation, independence and skills they need to successfully access learning and school life.

The provision includes different spaces and approaches to support children’s needs, including opportunities for targeted intervention, sensory and regulation activities, nurture, play-based learning and supported reintegration into the classroom.

Our approach is based on relationships. Staff take time to understand the individual child, recognise what may be behind their behaviour or barriers to learning, and provide consistent support alongside clear expectations.

The Hive also works closely with class teachers, families and, where appropriate, external professionals to ensure support is joined-up and purposeful.

At Rhodes Green, inclusion doesn’t mean expecting every child to succeed in exactly the same way. It means removing barriers, providing the right support and ensuring every child has the opportunity to shine.
