Welcome to Acorn Class – the beginning of an exciting learning journey at Rhodes Green CE Primary School!

In Acorn Class, we want our youngest children to feel happy, safe, curious and confident from the moment they join us. We provide a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can learn through a balance of purposeful play, exploration and carefully planned adult-led learning.

Our children are encouraged to investigate, ask questions, create, communicate and develop independence, building the strong foundations they need for their journey through school. Learning takes place both indoors and outdoors, with weekly Forest School sessions throughout the year providing even more opportunities to explore and discover.

Developing early reading, writing and mathematical understanding is an important part of life in Acorn Class. Children begin their reading journey through Read Write Inc. phonics, alongside sharing stories, rhymes and books that help develop a lifelong love of reading.

Most importantly, we want Acorn Class to be a place where children develop friendships, grow in confidence and discover just how exciting learning can be.

Every mighty oak begins as a little acorn – and we can’t wait to watch our Acorns grow!
