Attendance
At Rhodes Green CE Primary School, we know that every day counts. Good attendance is one of the most important factors in helping children achieve their full potential, build positive friendships and develop confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
Our aim is for every child to achieve at least 96% attendance, and we work closely with families to promote excellent attendance and punctuality. We understand that children will sometimes be unwell, but wherever possible, medical appointments should be arranged outside of the school day.
We use the ATTEND attendance system to work in partnership with parents and carers. This enables us to keep families informed about their child’s attendance, celebrate success and provide support where improvements may be needed. We believe that maintaining good attendance is a shared responsibility between home and school, and we are always here to help if challenges arise.
Celebrating positive attendance is an important part of school life at Rhodes Green. Each week, we present our Attendance Superstar Award, recognising a child and their family who have shown a significant improvement in attendance. We know that improving attendance often takes commitment from the whole family, and we are proud to celebrate these achievements together.
If your child is unable to attend school, please contact the school office as soon as possible on the first day of absence. Requests for leave during term time can only be authorised in exceptional circumstances and should be made in writing to the Headteacher in advance.
Together, we can ensure every child is in school, ready to learn and able to shine as stars in the world every day.
