Learning Regulation Hub

At Rhodes Green CE Primary School, we recognise that children cannot learn effectively if they are feeling overwhelmed, dysregulated or unable to access the classroom environment. Our Learning Regulation Hub provides a supportive space where children can develop the skills they need to regulate, reset and successfully return to learning.

The Hub is not a punishment or a place children are simply sent away from their classroom. It is a purposeful intervention, designed to help children understand their emotions and behaviour, recognise what they need and develop strategies that enable them to manage challenges more independently over time.

Support within the Hub is tailored to individual need and may include regulation activities, sensory support, movement breaks, emotional literacy work, restorative conversations and opportunities to prepare for a successful return to class.

A key aim of the provision is always reintegration. Children remain members of their class and are supported to access classroom learning wherever possible, with staff working together to ensure strategies are consistent and effective.

Our Learning Regulation Hub forms part of our wider inclusive approach alongside The Hive, The Bridge, Forest School and SEMH support, recognising that different children may need different approaches at different times.

At Rhodes Green, we believe behaviour is something we teach and support children to understand. By helping pupils develop regulation, resilience and independence, we give them the tools they need not only to succeed in school, but throughout their lives.
